I'd like to thank everyone who has bared with me since the last update. Unfortunately I have had a similar problem that I had a couple of years back and the bad weather effected my internet/landline and it has taken many, many stressful hours trying to get companies to sort it out. I finally have had my broadband back working for 48 hours for the first time but am having trouble accessing photo and graphic heavy websites. Hopefully this will be sorted asap. I am still able to be contacted on my mobile phone as stated on the contact page.
I've had a steady flow of homings recently and the pitter patter of tiny paws.
I owe a huge thanks to Pollie at cavycozies (please see link) who raised a wonderful amount for the rescue. Thanks so much! and would love people to keep supporting her tireless work for other rescues.
I am happy to say that our very own resident, Polly is still surprisingly with us and although she will never be 100% healthy, she is a happy little soul. On a sadder note, my lovely lurcher Esmee who I rescued last December has not been well and is very likely to leave us soon.
Thanks for the continued support, the blog will be updated properly shortly.

New animals in, and updates on other animals
As you will see on the quarantine page, it's been a rather busy time with lots of new pigs in that will soon be needing homes. Please take a peek, hopefully you will fall in love with them.
As most of you will know, Polly came in with Nancy. She had what was thought to be a URI as well as a UTI. The UTI cleared quickly, but what was thought to be a URI clung on. We tried several medications but nothing worked and so we started the process of illumination for other possibly causes of the symptoms. We ruled out a heart problem and she had gone drastically downhill weight wise. We managed to find that she had slanted teeth, and so I decided to have a dental done to see if this would help. She had her dental a week ago and I am happy to say that she has put on 30g since, and is the heaviest she's been for a while. She is off most of her medication too. She seems very happy and I just hope that she continues to improve. She still has a crackly chest due to scarring from being untreated for the problem in the past, but this makes her even more unique. She lives happily along side our other pigs and is a little sweetheart.
Lastly, I have made a big decision in regard to the future of the rescue. It's not been an easy decision, or a rushed one either, but I have decided after 11 years of being someone that takes on almost all unwanted species of animal, to concentrate on the guinea pig side of things, which is where my passion really lies. The name of the rescue will not change, and I am still happy to give advise and bond other species of animals or advise of other reputable rescues that can take on other species. I hope that you all will support my decision and of course continue to support the rescue.

another update
It's been a busy time here at the rescue. Firsly we've had some amazing homes coming along and have had lots, and lots of animals reserve or homed over the last month. Thanks to each person who has adopted from the rescue.
All the rabbits that have come in are now neutered and all the ones needing dentals have had their dental work done. I am very pleased to say that they are all reserved or have already left for their forever homes.
I must say a huge thank you to Pollie at cavycozies who has done an amazing job of fundraising for the rescue and is almost at her target of £385. Thanks to her and to each and every person who has purchased which has helped the rescue. Please continue to support Pollie and her efforts because every penny counts for each rescue Pollie helps.
Speaking of Pollie, our own Polly pig has sadly not got better. She has been on continuous medication since coming into rescue in May. It has been found that she has some dental issues too and so I am doing ym best to get her weight up so that she can have her dental done. She may need a tooth out too. If she does pull through Polly will have to stay permanently incase she needs regular dentals. I am hoping that this is the cause of her problem as pretty much ever other avenue has been exhaused now. She's a happy pig and is not suffering and so I will continue to fight for her for as as long as she is happy to continue.
It's very quiet here, only a few pigs for homing, but I do have some sows on pregnancy watch and so we may well have a couple of litters soon.

Busy week
It's been a busy one here. Minstrel, one of the dutch rabbits that recently came in decided that she wasn't going to eat and so it has been a case of syringe feeding and medication around the clock. A last ditch effort was to do her dental, which isn't ideal when a rabbit isn't eating but everything else was functioning fine. Her dental was done and after a further day of no eating or drinking she finally had a drink and nibbled some hay. She's now drinking fine but still a bit hit and miss on the eating and so she is being kept a close eye on. One she has started to eat properly and consistently for a number of days she can be neutered.
Revel, another of the group, who has been the best with her eating has been in for her dental and neutering and is recovering well, drinking and nibbling hay within 24 hours.
Crunchie, again from the group, decided to get picky with her feeding habits, but thankfully has started to eat properly again and so will go in along with her friend, Nestle soon for their dentals and neuters.
The guinea pigs have all been moved to her rehoming section, except Crumble, who will be staying here due to his head tilt. He's a little sweetheart and I'm looking forward to getting to know this friendly character.
As you can probably tell, this last week has pretty much consisted of me being at the vets. One of the vet nurses and I even joked that I could always move in and sleep on the bed they have there.
On another note, I'd like to say a huge thank you again to Pollie for all her efforts who has donated again. Over £100! Thanks so much to you Pollie and to each and every person who has purchased Pollie's lovely items.

homings and new animals in
It's been a busy time here at the rescue. After rather a quite spell on the homing front I've had a upsurge in offered homes and some of our longest staying pigs have left the building! Thanks so much to the people who fell in love with them and gave them their new homes. Lots reserved too.
Some of the quarantined animals will be ready to leave shortly and we have new ones in/due in. Details to follow.
The rabbits that came in last week have proved quite a challenge. Minstrel decided she didn't want to eat on Saturday and so it's be a case of medication and care to try and stop her getting gut stasis. She went in for her dental to see if that was the reason and came around fine. No terrible problems. It was then a fight to get her to eat and drink again, but finally today, she has decided to start nibbling and drinking.
Still animals needing homes including guinea pigs, rabbits and a budgie!

Another generous offer from cavycozies
Pollie at cavy cozies has now got a fabulous rescue gift on offer. You can go onto her website and pick out 5 items for a set amount of money, and then pick a rescue you'd like to donate them to. Pollie shall then send them onto the rescue you've chosen. This way you are helping out 2 rescues, the one that receives the items and the rescue that received the donation! You can find them listed on my wishlist, or go to Pollie's website (link can be found to the left) and choose some for a different rescue. Thanks again Pollie for your generosity.
I also have to thank Pollie for the first installment of the money she is working hard to raise for the rescue. The £72.30p is going towards the initial consultations for the 10 animals that came in the other day.
